LCES Weekly Update 8/19/22
LCES Families,
Wow! We had an awesome first week of school at LCES. We started out the year having so much fun in classes and building positive relationships with teachers, staff, and other students throughout the building. We also got to welcome Governor Polis to our school to show him all the great things that students in Leadville are doing. Students LOVED their play time on our new field in the front of the building. We also had an epic staff and student HulaHoop competition at our community meeting on Thursday. Here are some highlights from our week:
Arrival and Dismissal:
- Drop off begins in the morning at 7:40. Please do not drop students off earlier than this time.
- Dismissal will start at 3:15 each day. Our goal is to have students ready to walk out the door by 3:20. Students must be picked up no later than 3:40 each day.
- If you have a change to your end of day plan, please call Mrs. Analy or Mrs. Marissa in the front office (719-486-6890) before 2:30 each day.
- Please do not park or drive in the bus lane. This is a one way and reserved for our buses that come at various times throughout the day. Thanks so much for helping us keep our parking lot and bus drop off area safe.
Lunch
- You are welcome to come have lunch with your child. An adult lunch costs $4.50 and includes salad bar. If you want salad bar only it is $2.50. You may pay using cash or check.
- Please check into the front office to sign in and get a visitor badge. We ask that you then check out in the front office after lunch is over. For safety reasons, we can not have parents hanging out at recess with the students or joining them in classrooms.
- If you do come for lunch, we encourage you not to pull your student out of school after this. They will miss out on a lot of learning if they are pulled out early.

Other things to remember:
- We provide students with a snack every day as part of our healthy school initiative. We ask that you do not send a separate snack with your child.
- If you are sending your child with a home lunch, please be sure to pack a full, healthy lunch. We want to make sure our kiddos have plenty to eat to keep them going for the day. We also have lunch available at $3.00 per day.
- Please put your child’s name on their belongings so that we know who to return them to if they are misplaced.
Thank you all so much for sharing your kids with us. It has been such a pleasure having students back in the building this week. I am looking forward to all that this school year will bring. Please reach out at any time if you have any questions or concerns.
