We are off to a strong start to the 2026-2027 school year! It has been great to have our students back in the building, reconnecting with one another, settling into routines, and getting to work in their classes. Our staff has been focused on creating classrooms where students feel welcomed, supported, challenged, and ready to learn.
We are excited to welcome students and families back to LCHS for Back to School Night this Wednesday from 5:45PM-7:15PM.
We will begin together in the auditorium at 5:45PM for a brief welcome. From there, students and families will follow the student’s class schedule and visit each of their classrooms. Teachers will provide a brief overview of:
What students will be learning this year
The major goals and outcomes for the class
What students can expect day to day
How families can support a successful year
Students should attend with their families so they can help guide you through their schedule and introduce you to their teachers.
We are grateful for the strong start to the year and excited about the work ahead. Most importantly, we are looking forward to working alongside our students and families throughout the year. Thank you for your partnership.
We are glad you are a part of LCHS,

We are off to a great start this morning! Students are settled in, classrooms are busy, and our staff is excited to have everyone back. It has been great to see our building full of energy again.
We began the day together as a 6-12 school community and talked about what we want for every student at LCHS: to learn, grow, belong, be challenged, and be supported.
I also introduced students to some of our focus for the year, including our new Vision for Instruction. At its core, we want students to experience learning that has a clear purpose, challenges them to think, gives them meaningful feedback, and helps them grow.
We also reinforced a few simple expectations for the year ahead: show up, be ready, engage, persevere, ask for help, and take care of one another. We will hold high expectations for students while also making sure they have the support they need to be successful.
You will hear three words from us often this year:
Focused on Learning.
Collaborative in Practice.
Committed to Every Student.
Thank you for your partnership and for trusting us with your students. We are excited about the year ahead and very grateful to have our Panthers back in the building.
It was a pleasure to welcome both students and families back into the building on Wednesday! There was great energy throughout LCHS, and it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and welcome new members of our Panther community.
Our staff has been busy at work this week preparing classrooms, collaborating with one another, and getting ready to welcome students for our first day next week. We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to creating a strong start for every student.
A few things to get us started:
6-8 Specific: We know that joining a new building and school can be exciting and also bring a sense of nervousness. Our goal during these first few days is to help every student feel comfortable, connected, and confident as they learn new routines, meet their teachers, and get to know their classmates. Our staff will be spending intentional time helping students understand how LCHS works, where to go, who to ask for help, and what they can expect throughout the school day. We know these transitions take time, and we are committed to making the start of the year a positive one for each of our 6-8 students.
9-12 Specific: All 9-12 students should attend at 8:00AM on Monday. We will be having an opening assembly. 11th and 12th grade will learn that day about their in-person and asynchronous post-secondary days. For your information, here is the weekly schedule.
All Students: We will begin with a whole school assembly this coming Monday! Students will go directly to the auditorium prior to going to their classes. Our staff will be supporting students to make sure they know where to go.
All Students: If you were not able to pick-up your schedule at orientation conferences they will be available for 6-10 students in their crew classrooms following the assembly. 11th and 12th grade will pick them up after the assembly in the auditorium. Crew rosters will be posted in the building so students know where to go!
All Students: Here is the link to our Handbook, Behavior Matrix, Phone Policy, and our Grading Policy. These are important documents to review so you know our systems and structures.
SAVE THE DATE: One of our goals this year is to host more family engagement events. We want our families to feel a part of our school community. We will be hosting a Back To School Night on Wednesday, August 19th from 5:45 – 7:15. We will all start in the auditorium for a welcome and you will learn about our priorities for the year. Then you will follow your students schedule and have the opportunity to hear directly from teachers on what your students will be doing in their classes. We hope you can join us!
As we begin the 2026-2027 school year, our focus remains on providing students with a safe, welcoming environment where they feel known, supported, challenged, and connected. We know a successful year takes all of us working together. We are grateful for the partnership of our students, families, staff, and community.
We’re glad you’re a part of LCHS,
