Dear LCHS Families,

As we close out the school year, we want to thank you for your continued partnership and support. It has been a year full of growth, learning, challenges, celebrations, and meaningful moments for our students and school community. We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside you in support of your child’s success. 

Families will be able to see their students’ schedules mid July in PowerSchool. Students will get a hard copy of their schedule during orientation conferences in August. During orientation conferences and the first week of class students can request a schedule change through the counseling department. Students can reach out to Laura Alonzo-Ochoa, CMC’s Concurrent Enrollment Coordinator, over the summer if they have questions about their non-embedded CMC courses (classes not taught at LCHS). CMC is hosting a BBQ with information for concurrent enrollment families and rising seniors from 10:30AM-1:30PM on Sunday, June 28th at the CMC Leadville Gym (Climax Building). Translation services will be provided.

We hope you and your family have a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer. We look forward to welcoming students back in August.

Summer Training

Next year’s successes begin NOW! There are plenty of opportunities to increase strength, fitness, and skill this summer. These are available to rising 6-12th graders.

• The weight room will be open Monday-Thursday from 4-6 pm. There is a GroupMe for the weight room. Reach out to be added if you want notifications on additional open times.
• Speed and agility training- Mondays and Thursdays at 4 pm at the Community Park Field. Athletes from all sports are welcome to participate.
• Most high school programs have their own open gyms/practice times or will be starting in the next couple of weeks. If you need help getting in touch with a coach, please let me know.

Mark Your Calendars!

1. We will be holding a Fall Sports Parent/Athlete Meeting at the end of orientation on Wednesday, August 5 at 6 pm. This will be for ALL fall sport athletes at all levels. We will be presenting some important changes and updates. Please do your best to attend!
2. The official seasons for high school football and golf begin on Monday, August 3. All other high school fall sports begin on Monday, August 10. 

More information and updates on sports/activities will be included in the registration packets you receive this summer. Make sure to check them out!

Dear LCHS Families,

We are excited to celebrate the Class of 2026 tomorrow at their graduation. Yesterday, we had a wonderful day with the senior walk, graduation rehearsal, senior BBQ, and motorcade! We are incredibly proud of what these seniors have accomplished and look forward to seeing what they do in this world. 

For graduation tomorrow, doors to the gym will open at 10:00AM for seating with the ceremony starting at 10:30AM. Once the ceremony is finished, families can meet their seniors out front of LCHS.

This coming week, we have finals on Wednesday, June 17th and Thursday, June 18th. 7-12 students will be released at 11:30AM both days.

It’s not too late to purchase a 7/8 yearbook! They are $25 each and payment can be turned in to the front office. Please make checks out to LCHS.

From The School Nurse, Colleen Nielsen, RN:

The end of the school year is fast approaching. We want to ensure that your student’s leftover medication is safely returned to your home. Any medication must go home with a parent or guardian. Please plan to pick up the medication at school no later than June 19th. Any medications left after the last day of school will be disposed of properly. Medication is not kept over the summer for the following school year.

SBHC Sticker Design Contest

Students are invited to help design the next School Based Health Center sticker!

We are looking for creative designs that represent wellness, kindness, support, and our school communities. Winning designs could be turned into official SBHC stickers next school year.

Students may:

• Draw their design on the official contest template

• Turn in a paper copy to their SBHC office

• Or upload a photo of their artwork using the contest QR code

 Some School Based Health Center locations will remain OPEN throughout the summer! Students can continue accessing support, resources, and services even while school is out. Whether your child currently uses SBHC services or is interested in learning more, summer services may still be available in your area.

¡Se invita a los estudiantes a ayudar a diseñar el próximo sticker del Centro de Salud Basado en la Escuela!

Estamos buscando diseños creativos que representen el bienestar, la amabilidad, el apoyo y nuestras comunidades escolares. Los diseños ganadores podrían convertirse en stickers oficiales de SBHC el próximo año escolar.

Los estudiantes pueden:
