Hello Families,
We had an awesome week at LCES. This week we were honored to welcome Swallow Hills Performers to our building on Thursday. We want to thank the Rocky Mountain High Reading Council for their support in bringing this musical group to Leadville. The performers focused on presenting music from the pioneer era. What an awesome experience for our students.
We are still accepting applications for preschool for the 24-25 school year. Thanks for sharing with anyone in the community who you know has a child turning 3 by October 1, 2024.
Kindergarten recently set sail on the high seas of our hallway for our Columbus Unit. We had our 3 ships and were on a search for the indies.
Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or celebrations you would like to share.

Principal, LCES

Literacy News:
Dear Family,
For the month of April, we are encouraging students to read daily at home. If they bring back the completed log with your signature, they will get a special prize from us. We will also create a reading wall to display their reading log. You can read together, have your child read to you, or spend time reading to your child. Afterwards, discuss what the story or topic was about. To increase motivation, have them choose what interests them. Most importantly, have fun and READ!
Please look in your child’s Thursday folder next week. We appreciate your collaboration in supporting our students’ reading achievement.

Good afternoon,
We are working on updating the 2018 Housing Needs Assessment.
I would really appreciate your help in circulating the resident survey to your staff and families.
From Root Policy Research:
Hello stakeholders and residents in Lake County. Thank you for your interest in the housing needs assessment. The resident survey we are conducting to inform the needs assessment is live! Below is introductory language you can use to let people know about the survey via email and/or on social media. Thank you for your participation in the survey and for letting others know about the survey.

Residents and workers in Lake County and Leadville—please take this survey about housing challenges!
Lake County and the City of Leadville are conducting a housing needs assessment to understand the current needs of residents. This survey is a critical element of that assessment. This information will help the county and city create programs to better address housing needs.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LakeCountyHousing
Please take this survey if you:
¾ Live in any part of Lake County the majority of the year.
¾ Are retired or work in any part of Lake County. This includes if you live outside of the county and commute into Lake County for your job.
Do not take this survey if you own seasonal or vacation properties that you occupy occasionally or own long- or short-term rentals in Lake County.
¾ Your responses are confidential. Your name or place of residence will not be linked to your survey.
¾ This survey is not associated with any political party or election or ballot issue.
¾ The survey takes about 12 minutes to complete. If you complete it by April 30 you will have a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card.
Tell your friends, the people you work with, and family members about the survey!
If you require a reasonable accommodation to participate in the survey, please contact hello@rootpolicy.com or call 970-880-1415 x102. An example of a reasonable accommodation would be taking the survey by phone because you have difficulty reading and/or do not have a screen reader that can assist you with the survey.

Thank you in advance for your participation.

¾ Sus respuestas son confidenciales. Su nombre o lugar de residencia no se vinculará a su encuesta.
