9th Grade Cornerstone on 5/13/24
Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
This year’s Cornerstones will be a ropes course for 9th graders hosted at 100 Elk in Buena Vista. We will leave the school at 8:05AM. Don’t be late! We will return to the school by 3:35PM. Lunch will be provided by the school. This is meant to provide students at LCHS with a unique opportunity to celebrate their entry into high school (9th grade). This experiential learning day is meant for students to connect with their grade level and teachers to provide them with a foundation of belonging at LCHS.
Your student will be taking a field trip to 100 Elk in Buena Vista on Monday May 13. The goal of this trip is to:
- Providing students to interact with each other outside of the school building
- Students participating with their teachers in a fun unique environment
- Creating meaningful memories together
- Giving students an experience that many wouldn’t otherwise get the chance to have
- Opportunities to find “the flow,” where challenge meets skill and engagement is high
Please have your student bring athletic clothing, a water bottle, a jacket, sunscreen, and a day bag. If you have any questions or concerns you are welcome to contact your child’s CREW teacher or the front office and they can direct you to the appropriate people.
Please fill out the Waiver (English, Spanish) that your student will bring home and return it to the school before May 6th.
Parents/guardians have the option of excluding their child from this field trip. Please fill out the opt-out form and send it to your child’s CREW teacher. Students who are excused will be assigned study hall for the period.
