Hello Families,
Thanks for another great week at LCES. Our 2nd graders had an awesome trip to the butterfly pavilion this Thursday and got to connect this learning with their work that they have done in CKLA Knowledge.
Indoor Recess Monday due to the Eclipse: In order to protect student’s eyes from the eclipse on Monday, we will be having indoor lunch recess due to not having the proper eye protection for each student. Thank you for your understanding.
Preschool Round-Up!
If you were unable to make it to our preschool round-up and would like to enroll your child for next year, please stop by and get an application from the front office. Applications are due by April 15th.
Thanks for continuing to send your child with warm snow clothes everyday and we will continue to go outside and as you know the weather can change quickly throughout the day. Also, boots are still recommended as the snow is melting on the playground.
Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or celebrations you would like to share.

Principal, LCES

Literacy News:
Dear Family,
For the month of April, we are encouraging students to read daily at home. If they bring back the completed log with your signature, they will get a special prize from us. We will also create a reading wall to display their reading log. You can read together, have your child read to you, or spend time reading to your child. Afterwards, discuss what the story or topic was about. To increase motivation, have them choose what interests them. Most importantly, have fun and READ!
Please look in your child’s Thursday folder next week. We appreciate your collaboration in supporting our students’ reading achievement.
Ms. Mulcey and Ms. Newton, Literacy Intervention
