Applications for all preschool and other early childhood programs for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year are now available.
Paper applications are available in person at The Center at 130 W. 12th Street in Leadville.
A printable PDF of the Preschool and Early Heard Start application can be downloaded here. Once you print and complete the application, you may bring it and the supporting documents to the school in person.
A fillable PDF of the preschool application may be downloaded here. After you download and fill in the application, you can save it to your device, then email it and your supporting documents to The Center.
Children who will be three or four years old by October 1, 2026 are age-eligible for preschool. Some options are available for children who will be at least 30 months old by August 1, 2026.
Most of the free and low-cost programs and services to children with special needs have eligibility criteria. Tuition based preschool and childcare spots are also available.

The Center expects to fill all available preschool spots by the end of the current program year, in order to be able advise families of their status and plan for next year. The program anticipates operating with a wait list, so families are encouraged to complete and submit their paperwork as soon as possible for the best chance at obtaining a spot.
