Lake County School District Presents Facilities Plan
Imagine Leadville without “Lake County High School?” And what if this year’s students were the last to attend “Lake County Middle School?”
These were some of the possible scenarios discussed last Tuesday, October 1, at the Lake County School District’s “Facilities Forum” held at the middle school.
In addition to last Tuesday’s meeting with parents and community members, the board plans to meet with LCSD staff today, Oct 7. at 6:15 p.m. in the LCMS library and will also be available to staff during the lunch hour this week to answer questions about the plans and gather input from the people who work in these facilities. Anyone with questions or concerns can contact Superintendent Wendy Wyman at wwyman@lakecountyschools.net or 719-486-6800. or Kate Bartlett at kbartlett@lakecountyschools.net or 719-486-6818.A group of nearly 15 parents and community members gathered in the LCMS library for a presentation by School Superintendent Wendy Wyman and new Director of Special Projects, Kate Bartlett. The evening included the presentation of maps of each of the schools, outlining how the district proposes to reconfigure classes, grades and administrative offices once the high school renovation project is complete in August 2014. After the presentation the attendees broke into small groups for discussion and then presented their ideas to Wyman and Bartlett.
