As a reminder, we will continue state testing this coming week! These assessments are a great way for students to show what they know, where they are at, and help inform post-secondary opportunities. We ask that all students are well rested and show up to do their best!
In the next week, we will be sharing information about the 24-25 school year and where we are headed as a building. This will be a separate communication from the weekly communication. We are excited for the possibilities that are ahead of us!
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend,

Sports Report:
We’re in the midst of soccer and track & field seasons! Right now, we have over a dozen track & field athletes who are in a state-qualifying position in the state rankings. Our soccer teams are persevering, despite having to hold most of their practices in the gym. We hosted a middle school girls track & field meet on Wednesday, which was a lot of fun. Next Wednesday, we will be hosting a middle school boys track & field meet. Come to LCIS at 4 pm to cheer on our Panther athletes!
There will be a trial season of co-ed high school golf the first 2 weeks of June. Practices will be Monday-Friday from 4-6 pm during those weeks. Any high school student is welcome, even if you have never played golf! Please reach out to Anita Wilke, awilke@lakecountyschools.net, for more information.
LET’S GO PANTHERS!

A message from Project Dream:
Dear Families,
On 4/15 , we will have a practice Lockdown Drill at Lake County High School. We practice this drill so that we may familiarize the staff and students with our expectations and routines in case we are ever faced with a crisis.
In a Lockdown, students and teachers are trained to follow “Locks, Lights, Out of Sight”. Students move away from doors and windows and maintain silence. Teachers lock the classroom doors, turn out the lights, account for students and wait for the First Responders to open the door. We practice this Standard Response Protocol to ensure safety in our school should an emergency arise.
Please take this opportunity to talk with your child about safety at school and at home. Please contact Taylor Trelka at 719-427-7003 if you have any questions about our Standard Response Protocol or lockdown practice.

Residents and workers in Lake County and Leadville—please take this survey about housing challenges!
Lake County and the City of Leadville are conducting a housing needs assessment to understand the current needs of residents. This survey is a critical element of that assessment. This information will help the county and city create programs to better address housing needs.
Please take this survey if you:
· Live in any part of Lake County the majority of the year.
· Are retired or work in any part of Lake County. This includes if you live outside of the county and commute into Lake County for your job.
Do not take this survey if you own seasonal or vacation properties that you occupy occasionally or own long- or short-term rentals in Lake County.
· Your responses are confidential. Your name or place of residence will not be linked to your survey.
· This survey is not associated with any political party or election or ballot issue.
· The survey takes about 12 minutes to complete. If you complete it by April 30 you will have a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card.
Tell your friends, the people you work with, and family members about the survey!
If you require a reasonable accommodation to participate in the survey, please contact hello@rootpolicy.com or call 970-880-1415 x102. An example of a reasonable accommodation would be taking the survey by phone because you have difficulty reading and/or do not have a screen reader that can assist you with the survey.
