LCIS Friday Afternoon Shout Out 6/5/26
Hello LCIS Families,
We are all so excited that our annual Celebration of Learning is finally here! Please join us on Wednesday, June 10th from 6:00-7:15pm in the LCIS Gym as we kick off this special event with a welcome from Mrs. Talbot and vocal performances from students in grades 3-5. Following that our classrooms will be open for you to visit and hear from students across all grade levels about some of the learning they have experienced this year. This is truly a joyous event and we hope that you will be a part of it.
Also back this year is the Convivio which will take place in the LCIS Gym at 5 pm before the Celebration of Learning. This community potluck is a wonderful way to share one of your family’s favorite dishes and try many others.
Sign up for the Convivio using this link.
During the Celebration of Learning you can also Browse the Books!
Mrs Osborn is working hard to combine the LCIS and LCES libraries. She is sorting, packing, and planning for the new space. She will be reducing our book inventory which creates an opportunity for our families to create their very own home library! Please stop by the foyer at LCIS to select books that need a new home. The selection will be updated often, so be sure to check out the tables any time you can!
To Know:
To celebrate the completion of the spring read aloud books, students will be watching the movie version of their story in Library. Our 3rd and 4th graders will be watching “The Wild Robot” which is rated G. Our 5th and 6th graders will be watching “The Indian in the Cupboard” which is rated PG. If you have any questions, please be sure to call the LCIS Office!
Before the end of the school year we will be collecting all student Chromebooks so that they can be serviced over the summer. Please send your child’s Chromebook to school next week. It will stay at school next week.

Communications:
Medication at School: The end of the school year is fast approaching. We want to ensure that your student’s leftover medication is safely returned to your home. Any medication must go home with a parent or guardian. Please plan to pick up the medication at school no later than June 19th. Any medications left after the last day of school will be disposed of properly. Medication is not kept over the summer for the following school year.
Elevated Community Health is launching a School Based Health Center (SBHC) Sticker Design Contest, inviting students to creatively represent themes of wellness, kindness, support, and what the SBHC means to them. This contest is designed to elevate student voice, creativity, and connection to school-based health services in a fun and meaningful way.
The contest will run through the end of June, so we are especially hoping to share it with students before they leave for summer break. Participation is open to all students in Lake County School District (yes, even the littles in Kindergarten and Elementary school). Selected designs may be turned into official SBHC stickers for use in the following school year, giving students the opportunity to see their artwork featured across their school community.
