LCIS wants all students to be healthy and successful!
At Lake County Intermediate School, we want all students to be healthy and successful!
There is strong evidence that eating healthy, nutritious food throughout the day helps students’ academic performance! When students are well-nourished and physically active, they have fewer absences, fewer behavior problems, and a better ability to focus on classroom tasks.
We want all of our students to be at their best, so we are committed to helping them eat their best. Our school cafeteria staff is currently working with Live Well Colorado to serve more nutritious, better tasting food at school.
And…this year, students will receive a free fruit or vegetable snack every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday! The snack will be served in the classroom to all students at no charge.
Here’s how parents or guardians can help:
If your student is eligible for free or reduced meals, encourage them to eat breakfast and lunch at school!
- If your student packs a lunch or a snack, you can help us with this goal by choosing from our recommended list of snacks and drinks that we feel will help students both maintain energy and focus throughout the day.
