Counselor’s Corner

Hello LCIS families and students,

Welcome! I am Karly Menchen, the School Social Worker. I am a licensed Social Worker in the state of Colorado and this is my second year at LCIS within this important role. I am from Maryland and a graduate of Salisbury University with my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Social Work. I also work as a Special Services Provider, which permits me to serve as the social/emotional support on a child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). I meet with students individually, as well as within small groups and in the classroom. I focus primarily on identifying and regulating our emotions through different strategies to better help us function in our day to day lives. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns about your child. I am always available to be supportive in any way that I can.

I am making it my mission to start a LCIS Community Clothing Closet here in my office as there are times when students are in need of extra items. If you would like to donate any gently used items to the Community Clothing Closet, please send them to the school with your child or drop them off at the main office. We are in need of the following items:

-socks -short/long sleeve shirts -jeans/pants -snow pants -shoes/boots -hats/gloves

Thank you for your support. Please reach out to me with any questions.
