LCSD Board of Education Proclamation in measles response
Lake County School Board Proclamation 26-01
In recognition of exemplary service and community partnership in response to an outbreak of measles in Lake County
WHEREAS, the health and safety of our students, staff, and the community are of the utmost importance to the Lake County School District; and
WHEREAS, a recent measles case involving a student in the District presented a potential risk to the child and our community; and
WHEREAS, the coordinated response between Lake County School District staff and the county public health agency demonstrated exceptional professionalism, clear communication, and a shared commitment to public wellbeing; and
WHEREAS, school personnel and local public health officials worked collaboratively and efficiently to provide timely, accurate information to students and families, ensuring a well-organized and effective response; and
WHEREAS, this strong partnership and dedication helped prevent further spread of the virus, resulting in no additional cases beyond the initial household and avoiding widespread disruption to our schools; and
WHEREAS, the efforts of these teams have been recognized by the State of Colorado as setting a high standard for community response and interagency collaboration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that the Lake County School District Board of Education hereby recognizes and commends School Nurse Colleen Nielsen and the staff of the Lake County Public Health Agency for their outstanding service, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the health and safety of Lake County.
BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that we extend our sincere appreciation for their dedication and their exemplary demonstration of teamwork in service to our community.
