Project Dream has been the main out-of-school time provider for the Lake County School District since 2010. Thanks to multiple donations and grants including the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant, we are able to offer a variety of programs throughout the year. Programs include afterschool clubs, Friday, and summer programs for students grades K-12. Programs are provided free of charge to ensure all families are able to access Project Dream. School year programs begin a few weeks into school and conclude the week before school lets out for summer vacation. Summer program schedules vary based on school and partner schedules. Transportation is provided if this is a significant barrier for a student to participate. Either a snack or meals are provided during all programs.

Lake County Intermediate School (LCIS)
Beginning Fall 2026, all Project Dream programs are located at Lake County Intermediate School (1000 W 6th Street Leadville, CO 80461). We are excited to offer programs in specialized activity spaces, such as our Library, High School room, Makers Space, Art Room, STEM Room, Craft Corner, and Cooking Club. We have access to the LCIS playground and gym as well for our programs. Full Circle of Lake County will host programs in their own room at LCIS during afterschool.
Grade Groups
Students in afterschool and Friday programs will do activities in grade groups:
- Cubs: grades K-2
- Panthers: grades 3-5
- LCHS/CCHS: grades 6-12
Afterschool Programs
Afterschool programs run at all school campuses Monday-Thursday from the time school lets out until 6:00 pm. Project Dream provides transportation between Lake County Elementary School and LCIS, and students will be escorted from Lake County High School or Cloud City High School to LCIS.
Students choose a club or activity each day at afterschool. Clubs include:
- Art (painting, drawing, pottery)
- STEM (robotics, legos)
- Makers Space (carboard cinstruction, found art)
- Crafts (knitting, crochet, jewelry, seasonal crafts)
- Get Outdoors Leadville! (biking, cross country skiing, sports, nature games)
- Gym Games
- Music (guitar lessons, group music)
- High School Room (cosmetology, advanced arts, vinyl printing, 3-D printing)
In addition, we offer academic enrichment for each grade group daily. Academic enrichment includes:
- LCES: literacy, reading, math practice, brain games
- LCHS/CCHS: homework help/tutoring, credit recovery
Friday Programs
Friday programs run the full day most Fridays throughout the school year for students K-5 (LCES). For normal programs at LCIS, a portion of the day is typically focused on academics or life skills development, which enrichment activities the rest of the day. Student will take field trips throughout they year, such as visiting the Denver Zoo, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, trips to community pools in neighboring counties, and outdoor activity days. We will also bring in partner organizations to ru special programs on Fridays.
Students in grades 6-12 (LCHS & CCHS) can attend a monthly field trip hosted by Project Dream. We want input from our middle and high school students about unique experiences they would like to participate in!
Summer Programs
During the summer, Project Dream teams up with Get Outdoors Leadville! and their Rockies Rock summer camp to provide after camp programs. After camp is very similar to after school clubs running from the time Rockies Rock lets out until 5:00 pm.
