Dear LCHS Families,
At the beginning of the school year, we shared three commitments that guide our work at Lake County High School: Focused on Learning. Collaborative in Practice. Committed to Every Student.
As we move into November, I want to revisit these commitments, share how they are taking shape, and highlight how families can support our continued work.
FOCUSED ON LEARNING
Learning remains at the center of everything we do. This year, our teachers are focusing on clear learning outcomes, engaging instruction, and helping students understand what success looks like. We are seeing progress while continuing to strengthen classroom routines, student engagement, and consistent expectations.
How families can help: Ask your student what they are learning, encourage them to work through challenges, and reinforce the importance of regular attendance and arriving ready to learn.
COLLABORATIVE IN PRACTICE
We believe our school is stronger when staff, students, and families work together. Our teachers continue to collaborate around instruction and student needs. We are also working to strengthen communication, listen to feedback, and involve students and families in improving our school.
How families can help: Stay connected with teachers, ask questions, and reach out when concerns arise. Your perspective matters, and early communication helps us work together.
COMMITTED TO EVERY STUDENT
Every student deserves to feel known, supported, and challenged. Our staff continue to build relationships, provide academic support, and strengthen systems that help students be successful. We also recognize the importance of maintaining high expectations while responding to individual student needs.
How families can help: Check in with your student about their experience at school. Ask how they are doing, whether they feel connected, and what support they might need. Please reach out when we can help.
MOVING FORWARD
These commitments are not simply words for the school year. They are expectations we hold for ourselves and areas where we will continue to reflect, grow, and improve.
I am proud of the work happening at LCHS, while recognizing that we still have work to do. Thank you for your partnership, your trust, and the opportunity to work alongside you in supporting our students.
We are glad you are a part of LCHS,
