2026-27 LCSD PD LANE ADVANCEMENT GUIDELINES & REQUIREMENTS –
As a result of negotiations in the spring of 2026, the value of a lane advancement increased significantly, and so the expectations for earning an advancement should logically become more rigorous. Beginning July 1, 2026, lane advancement on the certified schedule shall be subject to the following guidelines and requirements. These guidelines and requirements are subject to change as part of annual compensation negotiations:
● Each lane advancement increment is 8 credits
● College and university credits count toward lane advancement on a 1:1 basis
● PD hours count toward lane advancement on a 30:1 basis (30 hours of documented PD hours = 1 credit)
● Employees may apply for a lane advancement twice a year, September and February each year
● Any credits submitted for lane advancement must be earned within the past 7 years as of the time of submission, if this is your first lane advancement, OR must be earned since your last lane advancement, Carry over credits will always be honored on the next PD submission.
This is a link to “Appendix E” which documents the agreements of the June 2026 negotiations and explicitly outlines the different types of professional development and when and how or if they count toward PD lane advancement. Credits submitted after July 1, 2026 that do not meet the following requirements will not be considered for advancement.
