Dear LCES Families and Guardians,
Happy November, LCES Families! What an incredible snowstorm we had on Wednesday! I hope everyone stayed safe, warm, and enjoyed a little of the fall/winter wonderland. With the snow here and temperatures continuing to drop, we have a few important reminders to help keep our students safe, warm, and prepared for the school day.
A Few Weather-Related Reminders:
- Extra Clothes: Please make sure your student has an extra set of clothing at school. Accidents, clothing tears, and spills happen to everyone, and we want to make sure students have what they need to stay comfortable throughout the day. This applies to ALL students in grades PK–5! Our office has a limited supply of loaner clothing, so having an extra set available is a big help.
- Winter Clothing: Please make sure your student comes to school each day with appropriate winter clothing, including coats, gloves, hats, and other cold-weather gear. As always, please label each item with your student’s name. Our Lost and Found is already growing, and labels help us get belongings back to their owners!
- Parking Lots & Walkways: Please use extra caution in our parking lots and on the outside stairways as snow and ice can create slippery conditions. Our maintenance team does an amazing job keeping our sidewalks clear, and we are fortunate to have heated sidewalks in many areas. Even so, it’s important that we all take our time and use caution when navigating our snowy, Colorado weather!
Thanksgiving Lunch Update!
There has been an update to our Thanksgiving Lunch schedule and menu! Please take a moment to review the updated flyer linked below for the revised grade-level times and menu information.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support! We are so grateful for our LCES families and hope you have a wonderful weekend. Stay warm out there!

The Center Specifics
Dear Preschool Families,
The air is chilly! Please be sure your child has a coat, hat, and gloves every day for our outside time. While we do have an alternate plan to use the indoor playground when it is too cold or wet, we get children outside as much as possible. Having appropriate clothing and gear ensures all children can play comfortably despite colder conditions.
Please remember to send an extra set of clothing in your child’s backpack every day, things happen! If your child has come home in some borrowed clothing from the program, we ask that you wash and please return these. Our supplies can get low so having these returned helps us be sure we have plenty on hand.
Please check your child’s yellow folder and attached fliers for our upcoming LCES Thanksgiving lunch. We are excited to share a yummy turkey meal with our families.
Enjoy your weekend, see you Monday!

From the Assistant Director
Dear Families,
A few parent reminders:
- If your child will be arriving past 9:10am please reach out and let us know, so we can ensure teachers include them in their meal count for the day.
- If your child will be absent from riding the bus in the morning, please make sure to reach out to me by 8:00am.
- If you requested snow clothes for your child during Parent Teacher Conferences, we are currently working through current inventory, to supply what we can for children. We might not be able to provide all items requested.
I hope you all have a great weekend. Stay warm. I look forward to seeing you all next week.

Hello PreK Families!
Leave One, Take One Sharing Library
Our Leave One, Take One Sharing Library is a great way to share the love of reading with others! Families are welcome to leave a book they no longer need and take a new-to-them book home to enjoy. This is a fun way to encourage reading, share stories, and bring our school community together.
Take a book, leave a book, and spread the love of reading!
