It was a quick, short week at CCHS! We continue to work diligently to increase academic achievement and growth for every student. We greatly appreciate the students who have set high expectations for themselves and established goals toward academic excellence. Their dedication, effort, and perseverance help create a positive learning environment for our entire school community.
We have a busy and exciting week ahead:
** Monday: We will hold our community meeting and celebrate several student accomplishments, including recognizing and honoring our August Student of the Month. Students will also vote on the dress-up themes for Homecoming Spirit Week.
** Wednesday: Students will attend the Lions Club/LCHS Career Fair during ACE Success class. This will be a valuable opportunity for students to explore career pathways and connect with local professionals.
** Thursday: We will have our Work-Based Learning trip to JDS Farms in Monte Vista. All students are expected to attend school, and the bus will depart promptly at 8:30 a.m. Students will learn about the agriculture and food-production industries through a visit to a potato farm while exploring the many careers connected to this field. We expect to return between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m.
By the end of the day on Wednesday, students will have had their second opportunity to complete a unit of study in each academic class and showcase evidence of their learning and competancy in their portfolios. We encourage families to ask students about their progress, completed artifacts, and academic goals.
