What a great week at CCHS! Students who have been present and dedicated to their studies should have completed their first portfolio artifact in each of their scheduled classes this week. Next week, every class will begin a new unit of study, giving students another opportunity to demonstrate their learning and competency.
We hope everyone enjoys the extra day off and takes advantage of the beautiful fall weather and colors by spending some time outdoors while the weather is still nice in our community.
There will be no school on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Classes will resume their regular schedule on Tuesday, September 8, at 8:10 a.m.
Several sporting events are coming up at LCHS, and CCHS students are encouraged to get involved! Students may sign up to participate in athletics or use their student ID to attend home events and cheer on our teams. Our next work-based learning experience will take place on Thursday, September 17, with additional details coming soon.
We are very grateful to the parents and guardians who contact us when their student will not be at school. Knowing that students are safe gives us peace of mind. If you receive an automated call indicating that your student has missed a class or a text message from the CCHS front office cell phone, please respond and let us know about the absence. We care about our students and become concerned when we do not hear from them or their families.

Lake County Public Library cards
This year during registration, the Lake County Public Library asked you for permission to create an account for our LCSD students. The district and library have been working on getting those ready and we hope the cards will be delivered in the coming week.
For those families who either didn’t answer the question or said no, there will be another chance for you to opt into your student receiving a library card. We will send home a hard copy of the letter and form to complete this. If you choose to fill it out, please return to the front office and we will deliver it to the library. There is also a link that you can opt in at if you would prefer. That link is: https://kkjlcxci.formester.com/f/6BWnz8UKD and the form is available in English and Spanish.
