LCES Families, We are looking forward to the 25-26 school year beginning on Monday! It was a joy to see students and families in the building on Wednesday. If you didn’t get the opportunity to visit the stations or meet your child’s teacher, we look forward to meeting you on Monday morning! Please read the K-2 specifics and PK specifics sections below regarding important information for the first week of school. This year we have transitioned all communication, grades, and payments to our online student information system, PowerSchool. Please do not make any payments with EFunds, our previous system. If you need assistance using the PowerSchool app, please call our front office at 719-486-6890 or email Ms. Zee (zalmeida@lakecountyschools.net) or Ms. Marissa (mamartinez@lakecountyschools.net). We are here to help and support this process. Have a wonderful weekend, Panther families, getting those bags packed and first day of school outfits ready. See you on Monday, August 11 for our FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! Brandi Lovely, PK-2 Principal blovely@lakecountyschools.net |
K-2 Specifics |
Morning Drop Off: Drop off begins in the lane around the building, and doors open at 7:30am. Students arriving between 7:30 and 7:39, will be asked to wait in the cafeteria. At 7:40, Mrs. Ayers will dismiss students to their classrooms. Breakfast will be eaten in the classrooms and parents are welcome to walk their student down to their classroom in the morning. Our school day begins at 8:00 and after this time you will not be allowed to walk students into the building to their classroom. 8:00 is considered tardy time and students will receive a “tardy” mark. Breakfast and lunch are free to all students. If you prefer your student eats a home lunch, please note we do not have microwaves or cooling systems for your student’s lunch. Please pack their food accordingly. At 3:15, we will begin our dismissal process. Thank you for your patience the first week of school as this tends to take a little longer due to the large amount of students being picked up. You are welcome to walk up to the front doors or use the pick up lane that wraps around the West/North side of the building. If you are using the pick up lane and do not have a CarRiderPro tag, please stop in the front office to get that tag to ensure a smooth pick up process. Quick note about safety- please use SLOW speeds in our parking lots, especially during drop off and pick up times. We are eager for the year ahead and our staff is thrilled for the opportunity to work with you. Please let us know if you have any questions, comments for improvement, and celebrations. Here’s to a great year, Panthers! |

The Center Specifics |
Hi Center Families, It was so great to see everyone at orientations! We are excited for a new year ahead in preschool. Here are a couple of notes about the first day and week of school. – When you arrive at The Center next week for drop off and pick up, please come in through the preschool entrance. We will try to have staff as available as possible to greet you directly, however, if we are not right there we have a system to help us know you have arrived. There is a doorbell in the vestibule, you can ring that to let us know that you have arrived. You will hear a click to be able to open the door. – Please note that if your hours are for the preschool experience 9:00-12:45 or 9:00-3:00, one or our leadership team members will open the door and greet you at 9:00 for morning drop off. Our teachers are either supporting AM extended hours or participating in planning time so we do not allow early drop off for our 9:00 am preschool start time. – If you have AM extended hours from 7:30-9:00 please follow the doorbell system to let us know of your arrival. Our AM classrooms are rooms 133 and 135. Our PM extended hour classrooms will be rooms 135 and 137. Children will be on the playground whether permitting from 4-5 so you can go directly to the playground for pick up during this time. If you do not see children outside, this means you will want to pick up inside. – Our playground spaces are not available for use by families during school operating hours (7:30-5:00). This includes the outdoor classroom, our indoor playground, and our outdoor playgrounds spaces. Please help us by not utilizing these spaces before or after drop off or as you are waiting for dismissal for other grade levels. This relates to our licensing rules and prioritized access of these areas for children still in session. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. Our staff is excited for a new year and we are here to help! Please reach out to anyone you see at the door, in the hallways, or even in a classroom if you need assistance, have questions, ect. My door is always open, please do not hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, thoughts, or feedback. I look forward to the partnership that we will create with your families this year. Please let your child’s teacher know or reach out to me directly. All authorized people must be 18 years or older.
