News from LCHS
Reminder: In-person 7th and 8th grade students will begin coming to school full time, 4 days per week, on Tuesday, April 20th. Seventh and eighth grade students will work from home on Monday, April 19th to allow teachers to set up classrooms for the additional students per day. Students should log in to Crew from home at 8:00 am on Monday and teachers will use this time to give explanations to students and answer any questions.
Students in 9th-12th grades will continue to report to school as scheduled.
Calling all athletes: we invite you to join the 2021 track and field team! The season officially starts on April 26, but we will be holding preseason workouts for athletes who are not participating in a C-season sport. Preseason workouts will be Mondays-Thursdays from 3:45-5:15 pm, starting at the LCHS weight room. Bring clothes to be outside, a mask, and your own water bottle. West Park Elementary School is holding a Kindergarten Pre-Registration drive in April to gain information about everyone who might attend kindergarten. Please see the attached flyer for information.
Get Outdoors Leadville! Community Gear Library Grand Opening Celebration – April 17th, 10am-6pm (see attached flyer)
Get Outdoors Leadville! (GOL!) is so excited to welcome the Lake County Community to YOUR brand new Community Gear Library building, located on the local Colorado Mountain College campus! GOL! is committed to breaking down cultural, social, and physical barriers that can make it difficult for under-privileged groups to access and enjoy outdoor spaces. The Community Gear Library is a place where families and community members of all backgrounds can borrow outdoor equipment and clothing, learn about local trails and spaces, and explore their connection to nature. Come join us for our grand opening on April 17th from 10am-6pm for free outdoor FUN and adventures all day! This is a family-friendly event where all are welcome. Activities will be offered in both English and Spanish, and COVID precautions will be followed. We can’t wait to see you there, no rsvp required! More details here.
