Dear LCHS Community,

We have Career Day on Monday the 19th for all 11th grade students and 10th grade students in Mr. Rodwick’s Career Exploration Class. Please make sure they are dressed appropriately for the weather as they will be walking to CCHS. For more information on this trip please see the communication!

Athletics

We will be hosting the first round of the high school boys’ basketball district tournament! The game against Sheridan will be on Tuesday, February 20 at 6 pm. This will be your last opportunity this season to cheer on the Panthers at home! Six high school alpine athletes are representing Lake County at State this week, and next week, 17 nordic skiers will compete in the State Meet! Good luck, Panthers!!

Reminder: High school girls’ soccer and coed track & field practices begin Monday, February 26! Please make sure that your athlete’s physical is up to date. Those spring sport schedules are posted on our online calendar, so you can begin your spring planning! You can find the calendar at https://chsaa.rschooltoday.com/public/genie/1518/school/445/date/2023-06-13/view/week/

You can also access this calendar from www.lakecountyschools.net . Click on the Athletics tab and then Athletic Schedules. The link will take you to this week’s schedule. If you click on “Month” at the top of the page, you can view the whole month at once.

If you only want to see the schedule for a certain sport/activity, click on “View Schedules” on the right pane. Click on the boxes next to the activity/sport(s) you want to see, and then click “View” below the options. In the upper right hand corner of the report, there are buttons to “print,” “email,” or “subscribe” to this calendar. By subscribing, you can get the activity calendar dropped into your Outlook Calendar, Google Calendar or iCal device. Any changes made to the calendar will automatically update in your calendar. If you would like to receive text or email notifications whenever there is a change to your sport/activity, click on “Notify Me” on the right pane of the calendar home page. You will be prompted to create an account and select the sports/activities that you wish to receive notifications for.

New Math Curriculum

Lake County School District will be adopting a new math curriculum for K-6th grades in 2024. Please fill out this survey to give us feedback on where our current math program is successful and where we can improve.

National Children’s Dental Health Month

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and serves as a great reminder to schedule your child’s preventative dental exam. As part of the Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program) dental benefit, children under 21 can access preventive services like exams, cleanings, sealants, and more!
