Dear LCHS Families,

We made it! Congratulations on the successful completion of the 2024–2025 school year. We saw great things happen across our building. As we close out the year, we remain proud of our students and staff here at Lake County High School. We are excited about what’s ahead and committed to refining and building on our systems to create the best outcomes for students.

As we look to 2025-2026, three things remain true for me:

Athletics

Sports Report: It’s time to prepare for next year’s sports seasons! Summer weight room hours: Mondays and Wednesdays 8:15 am-9:45 am, and Tuesdays and Thursdays 4 pm-6 pm. Speed and agility training will be at Community Park Field at 4 pm on Mondays and Thursdays. Any athlete is invited to build endurance by running with the cross country team- Monday through Thursday at 7 am at the Dutch Henry parking lot. Many of our other teams are holding open gyms as well. If you’re not on the communication list for a specific team, please send me a message, and I will help get you connected.

Fall sports schedules are posted on www.lakecountypanthers.net. Click on the Calendar tab. Choose View Schedules in the right panel to see, print or download the schedule for a specific team/group.

We accomplished some exciting things during the 2024-2025 school year, and I’m excited to see what our Panthers will do next year!!

High School Summer Credit Recovery

If your student failed one or two semesters of Math, English, Science, and/or Social Studies, they will be enrolled in an on-line credit recovery class this summer.

The details for summer credit recovery programming are as follows:

What: Students will take the online course/s through Colorado Digital Learning Solutions

When: June 23 – August 8

Where: Virtual (can be completed anywhere, student will need internet access)

How: Students will receive an email with login information and will be responsible for completing the self-paced course on their own.

If students need to borrow a Chromebook this summer to complete the course, they can pick up a Chromebook from the main office Friday, June 20, Tuesday, June 23, and Wednesday, June 24 between 9:00 am-2:00 pm.

Hello Lake County Families

Have you ever dreamed of having a movie theater in Leadville? The Tabor Opera House has too. With support from our visitor center, The Tabor Opera House is piloting a film series this coming October and we need your help! We invite youth, kids and their families to nominate your favorite family friendly films that you’d like to watch at the Tabor this coming October. The movies with the most nominations will be put on a ballot for the community to vote on.

Each student is encouraged to nominate between 1-3 films.
