News From LCHS 9/19/25
Dear LCHS Families,
As our fall weather begins to set in and our leaves change, I am reminded each day of how proud I am to live and work here with our students, staff, and families. As we wrap up Week 6,it is also a moment to notice the progress we have already made together and to look ahead at the opportunities that will shape the months to come.
We just finished our 7–10 NWEA testing, and a bright spot in the right direction is that in Math we had 36 students score in the 80th percentile or higher, and in ELA we had 33 students at that level. A percentile score shows how a student compares to others nationwide, so the 80th percentile means performing as well as or better than 80 percent of students who took the same test. As a class, our 10th graders also showed strong results, reaching the 60th percentile in ELA and the 65th percentile in Math. These results highlight both individual excellence and collective progress, reminding us of the importance of building on this momentum so that every student has the chance to reach their potential.
Looking ahead, we will continue to focus on building both academic progress and a strong sense of belonging for all of our students. Academic progress means ensuring that every student is challenged, supported, and given the opportunity to grow, while belonging means creating a culture where every student feels seen, valued, and connected.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend,
Scott Carroll

Sports Report:
Our 8th grade volleyball girls are turning heads. They were victorious over Vail Mountain and Clear Creek this week. Our winningest team so far this fall is Knowledge Bowl! They won both the varsity and JV competitions in Alamosa last week. Then they participated in a Quiz Bowl tournament in Brighton on Saturday, finishing 3rd among 13 much larger schools.
We are often looking for workers for our home events. If you would be willing to help, please email Alison Sprague at asprague@lakecountyschools.net. Most of these positions are paid, so you can make money while you watch your athlete compete!
As we approach the end of fall seasons, we will be recognizing our senior athletes/activity members on the following dates:
Thursday, October 9- volleyball, Crucible cast and crew and cheer
Saturday, October 11- boys’ soccer, cross country, golf and mountain biking
Saturday, November 1- football

Student Survey
Students will be taking the Panorama Survey on September 29th during CREW. The student feedback from this survey will provide invaluable insights about how we can improve and adapt our educational setting to better meet their needs. If you wish for your student to not take this survey, please fill out the opt-out form and return to the front office no later than Thursday, September 25th.
