News From LCHS 10/17/25
Dear LCHS Families,
It was great to connect with so many of you during conferences this week. These moments remind us how important it is to work together to support every student’s growth. We would like to give a huge shout out to our District Accountability Committee and volunteers for providing food for our staff the first night of conferences.
We are also still feeling the energy from a great homecoming week. Students and staff showed real school pride, leadership, and joy in being part of LCHS. Thank you for your ongoing support and for all the ways you help make our school community thrive.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend,
Scott Carroll
Principal

Healthy Kids Colorado Survey

Healthy Kids Colorado Survey
This fall our students will take the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey (HKCS), an important survey about student health. The survey asks students about health topics including unintentional injuries and violence; mental health; school safety; substance use; physical activity and nutrition; sexual behavior (optional); and risk and protective factors. The survey process protects your student’s privacy, and no information is collected that can identify an individual student. Only your child will know how they answer.
The survey results will help your school, community groups, and state health agencies to plan programs and services for youth. Students receive the survey during class time and are instructed to answer the questions or skip any question they don’t understand or don’t feel comfortable answering.
If you prefer that your student does not take the survey, please complete the attached opt-out form and return to the school’s front office by Tuesday, October 28th. Opt-out forms will also be available in the school’s front office to sign.

From the Calendar Committee
We hope during parent-teacher conferences everyone had a chance to check out the two potential calendars for next year. If you did not already complete the Final Calendar Survey, to share your opinion, please do so by following this link: https://forms.gle/vLYi4YpwLJ1cHjc57. The survey will be open until 12:00pm on October 20th.

LAKE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMING ARTS ANNOUNCES 2026 MUSICAL!
Lake County High School’s Performing Arts Department is excited to announce their production of DISNEY’S FROZEN presented with the support from the Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation as the Title Sponsor.
The production is directed by Scott Carroll and Dylan Rodwick with musical direction by Celesta Cairns.
For the first time in forever, experience the musical phenomenon that has taken the world by storm! Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, Disney’s Frozen includes all the film’s beloved songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, along with new music written exclusively for the stage.
In the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, Princesses Anna and Elsa grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she’s desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains. As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home – with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf.
Auditions for this production are open to grades 5-12 and will be a combination of both virtual submissions and in-person callbacks. Virtual submission of a 30-60-second song and monologue will be due Thursday, November 20th. Songs from the musical DISNEY’S FROZEN will not be accepted.
For students selected for the in-person callback session this will be held from 4:00PM – 6:30PM on Wednesday, December 3rd. We anticipate that the final cast list will be posted after school on Thursday, December 4th.
Full of magic, humor, and a stunning musical score, Frozen is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance, and finding the real meaning of true love. Tickets for this production will go on sale Monday, March 2nd.
Lake County High School Performing Arts Artistic Director Scott Carroll says “We are excited to embark into the world of Arendelle! This show is incredibly special to so many people and we look forward to putting the magic onto the Lake County stage. We hope to see you at performances this coming May!”
