LCES Parent Update 10/8/2021
LCES Families,
Thank you for another great week at LCES! Students are starting their monthly trips to the public library to check out books. While books will not be sent home, students will be able to read these books at school. Be sure to ask your child about their library trip and what books they got to read.
Please remember to send a mask with your child everyday and keep them home if they are sick. We appreciate your support in helping us keep our students healthy and safe.
As the weather starts getting cooler, please be sure to send your student with gear for going outside. Please make sure to label all gear with your students name. We go outside daily for recess and other learning activities.
Would you like to volunteer in the school? Please come into the front office to pick up an application and volunteer guideline form. We would love parent help setting up some materials for our labs, making copies, and prepping materials. Thanks so much for helping out in this way if you can.
Our parent-teacher conference time is drawing near and we are making plans for this event. This year our conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 27 and Thursday, October 28, from 12:00-8:00pm. On these days, students will attend school or Project Dream until 11:00am. We will dismiss at 11:00 am when buses will run their regular route and parents can pick up their children. Each appointment will be 30 minutes long. We will honor our health precaution of requiring everyone to wear a mask inside the building.
Please follow the link below and pick the best date and time for you to meet with your child’s teacher. You will receive a confirmation email – if you do not receive the confirmation email, please check that you have completed all of the steps in setting up your appointment.

Dear Lake County School students,
As the Ski Season is quickly approaching, I wanted to let you know that Vail Resorts, Inc. is once again pleased to offer a discounted ski pass program for Lake County students and full-time employees. New this year passes include access to Crested Butte! Please see the attached authorization letter and informational letter to learn more. The letter for students needs to be signed by a school administrator who can verify attendance with Lake County Schools.
All students under 18 are required to have parent or legal guardian signature on release form.
New this season: These passes will not become available for purchase until Friday November 5th, 2021 at the Lionshead Pass office or Saturday November 6th, 2021 at the Beaver Creek Pass office.
