LCHS: Walk Out 4/24/23

Dear LCHS Families,

Today at 2:00 p.m. a handful of students walked out of class and headed down to the Lake County Courthouse with the intention to protest climate change.  They were orderly respectful and left the building without incident.  If they return to campus they will be allowed in and return to class.  Any students who are found to be causing disruption on the LCHS campus will face our normal procedures and policies. It has been  reported that of the students who left the building, only a small number are actually participating in the courthouse protest, while the rest are walking around Harrison Street.  It is important to note that the Lake County School District will not be providing any staff to monitor the events at the courthouse. Thank you for your cooperation, and we will keep you updated with the event as they unfold if needed.
