News From LCHS 8/15/25
Dear LCHS Families,
As we finish our first week, one word stands out: gratitude. I am grateful for the resilience that our students showed, the care and professionalism our staff showed, and the trust our families put into us.
This is by far the way I expected our first week back at school to go and I am proud of our students and staff for their response. I want to acknowledge that I know the events on Monday may have caused a great deal of fear and anxiety. These are not situations or decisions that are taken lightly and please know that as the leader of this building the safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance to me.
As we continue to move forward, please know that my door is always open. You can reach out to me at scarroll@lakecountyschools.net or by calling Fernanda at 719.486.6950 to setup an appointment.
I hope that everyone is able to have a restful weekend.
Best,
Scott Carroll

Athletics
It’s time for FALL SPORTS!! Boys golf has already participated in 2 tournaments, but the action for the rest of our high school teams kicks off next weekend!! We’d like to celebrate the start of the new season with a Community Pep Rally at Community Park Field next Friday, August 22 at 3:40 pm just before the start of the boys’ soccer game against Mead High School. Please wear your purple and gold and come out to show your support for our Panther family!
The best place to find schedules for all athletic events is our online sports/activities calendar: https://chsaa.rschooltoday.com/public/genie/1518/school/445/date/2023-06-13/view/week/
You can also access this calendar from www.lakecountyschools.net. Click on the Athletics tab and Athletic Schedules. The link will take you to this week’s schedule. If you click on “Month” at the top of the page, you can view the whole month at once.
If you only want to see the schedule for a certain sport/activity, click on “View Schedules” on the right pane. Click on the boxes next to the activity/sport(s) you want to see, and then click “View” below the options. In the upper right hand corner of the report, there are buttons to “print,” “email,” or “subscribe” to this calendar. By subscribing, you can get the activity calendar dropped into your Outlook Calendar, Google Calendar or iCal device. Any changes made to the calendar will automatically update in your calendar.
If you would like to receive text or email notifications whenever there is a change to your sport/activity, click on “Notify Me” on the right pane of the calendar home page. You will be prompted to create an account and select the sports/activities that you wish to receive notifications for.
Need some Panther gear? Our online store has lots of fun items and designs! Check it out here: https://sideline.bsnsports.com/schools/colorado/leadville/lake-county-high-school
