LCSD Parent Update 9/24/2021
LCES Families,
This week at LCES, our 2nd and 1st grade students participated in our Community Building Days. It was so much fun to see students outside, engaging in activities and getting to know their classmates and teachers more.
Here are some pictures of 2nd Grade students at CMC on Tuesday:

Getting kids outside has so many benefits, such as helping them stay focused more in school and helping them stay physically active. One way to get your child outside it to participate in the Get Outdoors Leadville! Trail Challenge. Check out https://www.getoutdoorsleadville.org/community-programs-1 for more information on how you and your family can get outside and enjoy our beautiful area.
Each year our schools have an official day in which attendance of students is counted. This count of students is used to calculate funding our district will receive from the state. Typically this count date is October 1st. Because we run a four day calendar and will not have school on October 1st, our official count day will be September 30th. Thank you in advance for your support of having students in attendance on September 30th this year.
Homecoming week starts Monday! Here are the themes for each day and activities. We encourage your child to participate, but it is not required.
Monday 27th: Character Day: Wear something with your favorite character or dress up like your favorite character.
Tuesday 28th: Sports Day: Dress in your favorite sports team or sport apparel
Wednesday 29th: Pajama Day: Wear your favorite pajamas to school.
Thursday 30th: Purple and Gold Day: Show your Panther Pride by wearing Panther gear or purple and gold.
- Join us for our community meeting on Thursday to celebrate our students of the month. 8:10-8:40 in the LCES Gym.
- Our first PBIS dollar day is coming September 30th. Students will be able to purchase mini foam fingers to celebrate Panther Homecoming! The money raised from PBIS Dollar Days goes to
- purchasing our Thursday Crew Card prizes as well as other positive behavior rewards across the school.
- Come join us for the parade on Thursday. Please note that parents must walk in the parade with their child.
Hello Lake County Friends and Families! LCHS Student Senate would like to ask for your participation in the homecoming parade on September 30th at 4 pm, on Harrison Avenue. The float theme will be Disney. We are hopeful that you will consider picking up your families from school that day rather than ride the buses home. We would love it if you brought your family to come support The Lake County Panthers and possibly march alongside us. The parade is open to all so please bring your kids, your families and your dogs, if you’d like! Make a plan to pick up your students and take them to Harrison Avenue for this special event and don’t forget to wear your purple and gold!
Sincerely,
LCHS Student Senate.
Information and Reminders:
- Kindergarten Outdoor Community Learning Day is Thursday, September 30th. Information on this day was sent home last week in the Thursday folders. Please send your child with layers to keep warm, a water bottle, and sunscreen/sun hat.
Thank you all for a great week. We are looking forward to all the events and activities during Homecoming week. Please reach out if you have any questions.
