News from LCHS 8/26/2021
Dear LCHS Parents & Guardians,
We had another great week with everyone back in the building. The positive energy from our students and staff is inspiring. Every day, I am thankful we get to do school all together. I will never again take for granted our ability to operate school in a relatively normal capacity.
That being said, we are adjusting to returning to a new normal during a pandemic. For some students, the transition back is a relief and exciting. For other students, it is anxiety producing and difficult to navigate. We take our responsibility to support every student seriously. If your child is experiencing a difficult transition, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We want to help as best we can!
You can help us too! It is important to establish routines that will support your child at home and at school. Set and maintain a schedule that includes time for homework, a consistent bedtime, and time for self-care, whether that’s playing a sport, participating in an extracurricular activity and/or spending time with friends and family.
In terms of what’s coming up, next week on Wednesday and Thursday we will be doing our first round of NWEA tests for our 7th through 10th graders. We give these assessments 3 times each year. They help us understand the individual academic level and growth of every student. It’s important that your child is here both days and ready to do their very best on these tests.
I’m looking forward to another great week ahead of us!
Best,
Erin Dillon
