News From LCHS 9/2/21
Dear LCHS Parents & Guardians,
Our two days of NWEA testing went really well. Kids were focused and took their time. We’re excited to get the student’s results so that we can use it to inform our instruction and witness the growth of our students over time. Thank-you for your help to get your child here each day!
On Friday of this upcoming week, we have our Cornerstone Day. This day is crucial to the overall wellbeing of our school community and the relationships we hope to establish with our students. We spend the day outdoors, working together, goal setting for the year, and establishing how we can all contribute to our school community in positive ways. Students think about their futures and how school can be the vehicle to get them where they want to be later in life. Our crew leaders have put a lot of time and effort into making this day powerful and meaningful for all students. We are excited to share this day with your child!
Looking further ahead, I will be hosting this year’s first LCHS Coffee Talk at the high school on Thursday, September 16th at 9am. It is open to all adult family members. I will spend time talking about where we are as a school, the direction we’re taking, answering any questions you have, and observing some of our classes! Interpretation will be available. I hope to see you there!
Enjoy the long week! There’s no school on Labor Day (Monday, September 6), but we’ll see everyone on Friday for Cornerstones!
Best,
Erin Dillon
LCHS Interim Principal
