News From LCHS
Dear LCHS Parents & Guardians,
We have had several strong weeks of learning and instruction. Students are getting deep into the curriculum and building upon the foundational knowledge they acquired in their classes since the beginning of the year. Be sure to ask your child about what they’re learning and how they are doing in their classes. These conversations help students continue to think about and solidify concepts outside of school!
The last three weeks of the semester following Thanksgiving break are important ones. Unless your child is sick, please make sure your child is here every day. We will be taking NWEA MAPs testing on Wednesday, December 8th and Thursday, November 9th. These tests help us understand the academic progress your child has made this year so far. In some cases, they also help us determine your child’s programming and schedule.
Additionally, finals are on Wednesday, December 15th and Thursday, December 16th. We will not excuse student absences on these days. Students must be at school to take their finals. Finals are worth 15% of students’ final grades in their classes. 1st semester grades will be finalized on Friday, December 17th.
Please encourage your child to do their very best these last three weeks of the semester. Many students have put themselves in a great position to end strong. I hope you’re getting the chance to enjoy loved ones and count your blessings over the Thanksgiving break. We look forward to having all our students back in the building on Monday, November 29th.
Best,
Erin Dillon
LCHS Interim Principal

6th-8th Grade Games at LCIS:
We have decided to make some changes with attendance at our 6-8 games at LCIS. Given the age of our students we are going to require that all students attending the game are with an adult. If students arrive without an adult they will not be allowed to attend the games at LCIS. We are making this change to ensure more supervision and that everyone is being safe and respectful at all times.
Winter Formal
RSVP is required for our Winter Formal dinner, which will be held before the dance on the 10th of December. The dinner will be held from 6 to 7 PM while the dance will take place from 7 to 10 PM. You will have the option of steak, pork belly, or a shrimp alfredo sold as meals for $10. There will not be food tickets at the door.
Dance prices will be $3 for singles and $5 for couples sold at the door.
Family Learning Institute
We will be offering a family learning institute each month and all students and families are invited to attend! The sessions will be held at LCES.
