News From LCHS 3/21/25
Dear LCHS Families,
We have had a great week back after Spring Break and are looking forward to welcoming families into the building this coming week for conferences.
Conference Information
- You should have received an email regarding how to sign-up for conferences. The link to sign-up is here. If you are having issues, please reach out to the LCHS front office at 719-486-6950.
- At conferences this year, we will be doing course selections for the 25-26 school year. Having family involvement in these conversations is important to us.
- We have created two documents to help guide the course selection process. The first is our LCHS Course Progression Document for our two main graduation pathways. The second is our Graduation Requirements Matrix. Students on Monday will be working with their crew teachers to help prepare for conferences and these conversations. Our goal with these documents is to be transparent and clear about how a student progresses through LCHS.

LCHS Graduation Requirements Matrix
- You will notice the addition of CORE to our Graduation Requirements. Crew teachers will explain more about this at conferences. The basic concept is restructuring our 9-12 crew time to be a more effective and intentional use of time, including more academic support and career planning.
9/10: Crew, Math+, ELA+, and Career Exploration / ICAP (Individual Career and Academic Planning)
11/12: Crew, Credit Recovery, and Post-Secondary Support
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend,
Scott Carroll

Athletics
Sports Report: The LCHS Knowledge Bowl team competed in the state championships on Monday and Tuesday. It was a close back and forth battle with Caprock Academy for the 2A title, but in the end, Caprock took the state title by 3 points. Lake County settled for state runner-up, the same position that they finished in last year.
There will be a high school mountain bike team informational meeting on April 7th at 5:30 pm at 213 Harrison Ave, for students who will be in 9th to 12th grade next year. This meeting is for athletes and parents who are interested in joining the mountain bike team for the 2025-2026 school year. We welcome all students who like to ride bikes and are interested in learning more about our team. Our club can provide bikes and safety equipment during the season for those who need it, and we have scholarship opportunities available. Contact katie@cloudcitymountainsports.org for more information.
Let’s GO PANTHERS!!
