LCHS Ski Team Kickoff Weekend!!
The LCHS Alpine Race Season Kicks off October 21st and 22nd!
- Join us at Ski Cooper Saturday evening, Oct. 21st for Warren Miller’s Line of Descent. The film will start at 7pm. This ski film is a fundraiser for LCHS skiing and tickets can be purchased ahead of time at skicooper.com.
- Sunday, Oct. 22nd we will meet at Ski Cooper at 9am to do some work around the hill to support the race program. Let Jeff know if you plan to come and help so he can order you lunch. (jeffmadx@gmail.com)
- Sunday, Oct. 22nd at 1pm we will be doing our equipment work. Bring old skis to pass along and come to be sized for new skis for the upcoming year. We have enough equipment that we can normally take care of race skis for students skiing for Lake County. Vendors with ski gear will be available as well.
- Early season training—we will have sign up forms available on Sunday for early season training at Loveland. We have access to discount tickets for early season training and can provide transportation with enough interest.
- We will start officially when Ski Cooper opens on 12/9, but will try to train at Loveland or even in town on Dutch Henry when snow becomes available. If Cooper opens sooner we will start sooner! We will have a Loveland sign-up sheet available on Sunday.
A few Details:
- Students pay the normal LCHS sports fee and need to have a Cooper Season pass. Scholarships are available if needed.
- Students train on Saturdays and race on week days in January and February. We will train some on Dutch Henry at night and the occasional weekdays.
- Transportation and gear (as available) is provided to student alpine racers.
