News From LCHS 5/2/25
Dear LCHS Families,
As we enter the month of May we are closing in on the end of the 24-25 school year with many different events and activities! We continue to see our students and staff engaging in creative and robust learning opportunities. I’m proud of all that our students are achieving and deeply thankful for the incredible team of educators and staff who show up every day with heart, dedication, and resilience.
Being part of the LCHS community, and having the opportunity to lead and grow with such outstanding people, is one of the greatest privileges of my life. I very much look forward to our future.

Sports Report: Our HS boys track & field team is Frontier League Champion!! It was a true team effort with everyone making contributions to the victory.
Our Lady Panther track & field team entered the meet 39 points behind Englewood based on the entries, but those ladies grabbed surprise points in several events. In the end, Englewood did get the win, but only by ½ point!!
4 of our Knowledge Bowl students traveled to Chicago last weekend to compete in the Small Schools Quiz Bowl National Championship. They had a great time and finished just above the middle of the pack!
There will be a parent meeting for any current 8-11th grade students interested in playing football next year on Monday, May 12 at 6:30 pm in the LCHS cafeteria. Please come to hear about spring/summer training opportunities!

Note from Colleen Nielsen, District Nurse
Colorado has had its first reported Measles case this week. Measles is more than just a rash. It is a serious respiratory illness that can cause lifelong problems like hearing loss, brain damage, and even death. Measles is preventable with a vaccine. Please reach out to your provider to check on your student’s vaccination status. If measles was to be found in our student population, your student will be excluded if not fully vaccinated. If you have questions, please email me at cnielsen@lakecountyschools.net
