News From LCHS 5/23/25

Dear LCHS Families,

As we get close to wrapping up the 24-25 school year it is important for students to remember how they finish matters. There is still important work to complete as we lead up to final exams on Wednesday, June 18th and Thursday, June 19th. We encourage students to stay focused, ask for help when needed, and finish strong. PowerSchool has your student’s grades and progress.

Our 2025 production of WILLY WONKA opens this next week. Tickets are ON SALE now! Performances dates are:

Thursday, May 29th: 7:30PM
Friday, May 30th: 7:30PM
Saturday, May 31st: 2:00PM and 7:30PM

Tickets for the entire run of the production are currently on sale by calling 486-6950 or by logging onto (lakecountyhs.booktix.com). Adult tickets are $12, senior tickets are $10, and child/student tickets are $8. Online ticket sales will end two (2) hours prior to each scheduled performance. The box office will open one (1) hour prior to each scheduled performance. Doors to the theatre will open thirty (30) minutes prior to each scheduled performance. Ticket prices will be $2 more at the door and we only will be able to take cash or check.

J-Term / Finals

This year we will be doing a modified 9-12 J-Term schedule with classes in the AM and activities in the afternoon. 7-8 will be on a normal schedule with outdoor activity days planned for 5/28 and 6/5. Please see the schedule below and note that finals are the last two weeks of school. We will be getting a detailed schedule out in early June.

Lake County High School

Athletics

Sports Report: 19 athletes represented Lake County High School at the State Track & Field Championship last weekend. Although Jaxon Wood entered the high jump ranked 19^th, he cleared a 4” personal record and won the event!! We took 2^nd in both the women’s and men’s pole vault- Susie Bullock’s mark of 10’4” is a new school record! Lyza Zoller will also be added to the Wall of Champions for her 3^rd place finish in the pole vault! In another surprise result, Luis Macias Palacios began the discus in 13^th place, but he threw a 10’ PR and ended up with a 6^th place medal!

Although our official sports seasons have wrapped up for this school year, there’s still plenty going on! Open gyms have already begun, and camps are quickly approaching! The weight room is open most days after school. HS boys and girls’ basketball, volleyball and football have begun summer training. MS girls’ basketball will be holding open gyms at LCIS on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays from 6-8 pm, beginning next Monday.
