News From LCHS 11/14/25
Dear LCHS Families,
We are very much looking forward to welcoming our students back into the building this coming Monday. The past two days have been challenging and unsettling for many. We know that this situation has affected our LCHS community and broader community in different ways. As you saw from district communication yesterday our buildings have been cleared by law enforcement for us to return to normal operations. We appreciate the patience and care you have shown as we worked through this disruption.
When students return, we want them to feel grounded and supported. We will hold a whole school community meeting on Monday to help everyone reconnect, understand what to expect moving forward, and re-engage with school. Our goal is to bring students together, set a steady tone for the week, and make sure they know they are safe and supported. We also will have team members from Sol Vista onsite in the morning starting at 9:00AM, if students need to process anything.
We are thankful for the trust you put in us and your partnership. Please join us on Wednesday for our Thanksgiving lunch as we spend time together before the holiday. High School lunch is from 11:25-12:10 and Junior High lunch is from 12:20 – 1:00. We also hope to see you at The Crucible this weekend. Our students and staff have put tremendous effort into this production and we are glad they will be able to share their work with you this weekend.
Grateful for all of you,
Scott Carroll
Principal
Lake County High School.
Sports Report:
Join us for Lake County High School’s fall play, The Crucible, TODAY at 7:00 p.m. and tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. in the school auditorium. Arthur Miller’s classic drama tells the gripping story of the Salem witch trials, exploring how fear, hysteria, and accusation can tear a community apart. As suspicion spreads, neighbors turn against one another, and truth becomes the first casualty. Don’t miss this powerful performance by our talented students! Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for LCSD staff and students. Seating is limited, so get to the show early to assure you have a seat!
Most high school winter sports begin on Monday!! Girls’ basketball practice will be 4-6 pm in the gym. Girls and boys’ wrestling will meet 5-7 pm in the wrestling room. Boys’ basketball practice will run 6-8 pm. Please let me know if you need help connecting with coaches. Schedules can be found on our sports calendar: https://chsaa.rschooltoday.com/public/genie/1518/school/445/date/2025-12-08/view/week/

Healthy School Meals for All Election Results
Propositions MM and LL were passed by voters in the recent election, which allows the Healthy School Meals for All program to raise and retain additional funding. This means there will be no changes to our breakfast and lunch program this year. All students will continue to have access to a free, nutritious breakfast and lunch each school day.
Even though meals are free for all students, we ask that families continue to provide household income information by completing the Federal Economic Data Survey (FEDS Form). This information helps schools receive full federal funding, which directly supports meal programs, after school programs and other nutrition initiatives. Please contact Leslee Torsell ltorsell@lakecountyschools.net or Mary Jelf mjelf@lakecountyschools.net for more information on how to complete the FEDS form.
