Hello LCIS Families,
It’s here! The 100th Day of School is Monday! Get ready to step back in time! Students are invited to dress like they are 100 years old to celebrate the 100th day of school on February 23rd. Ideas to help you dress the part: Gray or white wig, cardigans/sweater vests, suspenders, shawls, bowties and pearls. Be creative! Have Fun! Celebrate 100 days of learning at school!
Join us for our February Community Meeting this Wednesday starting at 8:05 in the LCIS Gym. Our 5th graders will lead the meeting and present what they’ve learned about photosynthesis. We will also honor our scholars of the month for Compassion, our Habit of Work and Learning (HOWL) this month.

From 3rd Grade:
In ELA this week, third graders have been practicing their writing skills by constructing paragraphs on topics such as gravity, scientists, and the Olympics. In math, they are beginning their exploration of division!
IXL Homework:

Please continue to encourage your child to do about 20 minutes of IXL each day as homework. Encourage them to complete each recommended skill to mastery!

The first day of Middle School Soccer practice is Monday, February 23! Practices will take place at the Community Field from 4-5:30pm.

Outward Bound Full-Tuition Scholarship Opportunities for ages for ages 12-18
Full scholarships are available for middle and high school students to attend a 5- or 8-day expedition in Colorado or Utah. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition and food, and students can borrow all the gear needed for the course. This opportunity is open to students who are excited to attend and demonstrate financial need.
Eligibility
- Age: Students must be between 12 and 18 years old at the time of course start.
- Application: Students must complete the COBS Scholarship Application, showing proof of free/reduced lunch or other indication of high financial need.
How to Get Started

- We will reach out with the next steps and a link to the Course Application, followed by the Scholarship Application.
I am also delighted to share that COBS has recently become an approved My Spark program provider through the Denver Public Schools Foundation. My Spark gives eligible DPS middle school students up to $1,000 to spend on youth activities like ours!
