LCIS FASO 1/21/22

Hello LCIS Families!

We have a fun and busy week coming up at LCIS. 

• On Wednesday, our 3rd graders will visit Camp Hale and The Colorado Snowsports Museum as part of their field work for their 10th Mountain Division Unit. 
• On Thursday, January 27, 2022, our 6th graders will host our January Community Meeting in the LCIS Gym starting at 8:10. Families are welcome to attend! 
• Students will also be taking some online assessments this week, so be sure to send them to school with their Chromebooks every day. If your child has headphones that work with their chromebooks, it would be helpful to have them at school

Unfortunately the Wooden Rain performance scheduled to take place today was cancelled. We are hoping to reschedule for sometime later in the semester. 

Our school Spelling Bee is fast approaching and will be here on February 3, 2022. The Bee will take place in the LCIS Gym and begin at 8:10. Families are invited to join the audience and support the students who will partake in the competition. Check out the Scripps National Spelling Bee website to learn more about spelling bees and find resources to support your child as they learn to spell new words. 

Remember that toys and items like trading cards (Pokemon, etc) are not allowed at school. Please remind your child that those items need to remain at home.

Dear Parents and Guardians of Project Dream Students:Over the course of the semester, Project Dream will be conducting fire and lockdown drills during after school programs. Reference the schedule below to know the days drills will be taking place. All drills will run at 4:30pm. On these days, please wait until at least 5:00pm to pick up your students from after school programs so that they may fully participate in the drills.

• February 10th: Fire Drill at LCES
• February 17th: Lockdown Drill District-Wide
• February 22nd: Fire Drill at LCHS
• February 23rd: Fire Drill at LCIS

There is no Friday programming on the following dates: Feb. 4, Feb. 25, April 1, May 20, Jun. 3, Jun. 17.  

📚  ACADEMIC UPDATE

 Please see below for our January lunch and breakfast menus.  Starting this month, we will be more environmentally conscious by posting the menus on the Friday Afternoon Shout Out and sending home paper copies by parent/family request.  Please let the LCIS main office know if you need a print-out of the menus by calling  719-486-6830.  Thank you!
