LCIS Friday Afternoon Shout Out 3-28-25
Hello LCIS Panthers,
It was wonderful to reconnect with so many of you during conferences. Thank you for being a strong partner in your child’s education! If you missed conferences this week but would still like to meet with your child’s teacher, please reach out directly to them or contact our main office to set up an appointment.
Our next school-wide community meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 4th in our LCIS Gym. Our 4th grade students will lead the meeting and we will recognize students for showing the Habit of Curiosity. Please join us!
LCIS will be selling Positive Panther Pins next week. Students created these colorful and encouraging clothespins that are wearable and shareable! All proceeds will support positive behavior rewards at LCIS. Thank you for your support!
Also next week on Wednesday are spring photos! We will be offering class and individual photos. Order forms were sent home during conferences and if you still need one, your child can pick it up from the main office.
IXL is our weekly homework expectation!
Many of you were reminded at conferences that our weekly homework is for students to complete one hour of ELA skills and one hour of Math skills on their IXL platform. This is accessed through their Clever accounts on their Chromebooks. One of the benefits of students using IXL is that it is able to differentiate the skills that your child needs to work on. If you have any questions about IXL, please reach out to your child’s teacher or call the main office at 719-486-6830.
Our IXL data from this school year shows that we have a good amount of participation, and we know that many students are still not meeting that homework expectation.
We will continue to celebrate students who complete their homework expectations. These students completed the Spring Break Homework Challenge and we had so much fun at the Dutch Henri Sledding Hill! We are hoping to increase the number of students who qualify for these rewards. Please encourage your child to complete their homework weekly!
I’m Here For It!
Grade levels will be competing to see which class has the highest percentage of attendance for the month of April. The grade level with the best attendance will earn Free Play Time. Those students from the winning class who are at school every single day in April will also be invited to enjoy an exclusive, sugar free treat. So, set your alarms, show up every day, and win some free time with your friends!
Project Dream Updates:
Project Dream is hiring a part time position to drive the Activity Bus for afterschool and Friday programs! Many Project Dream families say how helpful it is to have free transportation for our programs, and we need your help continuing this service.
Pay is $20-$26.50/hour dependent upon experience, average 20 hours per week, no CDL required. If you know anyone who might be interested, please share this job post with them: https://www.lakecountyschools.net/blog/2025/03/18/lcsd-is-seeking-a-driver-for-project-dream-programs-no-cdl-required/
