LCIS Friday Afternoon Shout Out 5-30-25
Hello LCIS Panthers!
What a fantastic community meeting we had on Wednesday this week! We were able to celebrate so many LCIS Panthers for fantastic attendance and making growth on NWEA Math and ELA from winter to spring, DIBELs from fall to spring, and ACCESS for our English Language Learners from last April to this April.
All library books are due on Monday, June 2! We are still missing 68 books which is a value of over $1000. While we are excited that your child is loving reading that book, we do need it returned to the LCIS Library ASAP. Please help your child locate any books they may have misplaced. Thank you for helping us keep our library stocked with fabulous reading materials!
Many of our LCIS students had the opportunity to have a preview of this year’s musical, Willy Wonka, and what a treat it was! We hope that you are able to take your family to see this very funny musical over the weekend. They will be performing Friday at 7:30, and Saturday at 2pm and 7:30. You can get your tickets here: https://lakecountyhs.booktix.com/
Our 4th graders will be going to Camp Hale and the Vail Snowsports Museum on Tuesday, June 3rd from 8:45 am-3 pm. They will be studying the 10th Mountain Division soldiers and the history of skiing in our area. We are so thankful to C4 and GOL! for making this trip possible!
This Tuesday, June 3, our 6th grade band students will join the Lake County High School band students for a concert at Ice Palace Park at 5 pm. We are super excited that our students will be performing at a new venue and performing with the upper grade level students. Please join us to enjoy some outdoor music!
Our 6th grade students will be traveling to Denver on Wednesday, June 4, to visit the Molly Brown House. They will be able to enhance their classroom learning surrounding the Titanic by visiting this historical site. They will leave at 8:15 am and return before dismissal time.
We will be having our annual Instrument Night at the LCIS Music Room at 5:30pm on Wednesday, June 4th. Any students who would like to participate in 5th or 6th grade band next year MUST ATTEND to try out instruments and get information about band next year. Our partners at Flesher Hinton Music from Denver will also be present to discuss private rental options, as we only have so many district-owned instruments at our disposal. We can’t wait to see you from 5:30 – 7:00pm on Wednesday, June 4th!
Our 5th grade students were able to go to the Fish Hatchery on Thursday – until the weather turned stormy! They powered through the morning at the different education stations, had a delicious lunch, and returned to LCIS in time to go to the LCHS musical preview. What a great day! Thank you to the Friends of the Fish Hatchery for sponsoring this wonderful activity!
Our students are busily preparing for our end of year Celebration of Learning on June 11th. Mark your calendars for this important event! We will begin at 6pm in the LCIS Gym with a welcome followed by vocal performances by students in grades 3-5 and concluding with visits to the all grade level classrooms to listen to students share their learning. We hope to see you there!
In addition to our Celebration of Learning, we will also hold our first Convivio from 5-6pm in the LCIS Gym. This potluck style gathering is an opportunity for you to share your family’s traditional meal/food with others while trying their traditional food all while meeting and interacting with others. Please join us for this event by signing up using the Convivio flier below.
IXL Homework continues and we are so close to answering 1 million questions! We have less than 20,000 questions to go to hit this exciting milestone. Keep encouraging your child to work on their skills!
Congratulations to our IXL Skills Masters Champions for the 24-25 school year!
