Update to preschool families regarding remote learning
Dear Center Families,
You may have heard our school district is moving to “Red” remote learning for the next 6 school days beginning on Monday, November 16th through Tuesday, November 24th. The district moved to remote learning due to current and anticipated staffing shortages that would limit our ability to safely and effectively host school. We anticipate returning to “Yellow” hybrid on Monday, November 30th.
Although we are sad not to have our classrooms open and teaching children, all the Center staff are working hard to make the quick transition to remote learning. Teachers will have daily class meetings beginning Wednesday, November 18th. Learning packets will be available for pick up on Tuesday, November 17th. The Center will be open from 8am-4pm for packet pick-up. If you need help getting your child’s packet, please let your child’s teacher know.
Here’s what to expect while we are on remote learning:
Monday, November 16 and Tuesday, November 17th
- Teachers will be checking in with families and sharing class meeting times
Tuesday, November 17th
- Learning packets will be available for parents to pick up at the Center from 8am to 4pm. .
Wednesday, November 18th – Tuesday, November 24th
- Daily class meetings
- Weekly family check in calls
- Ready Rosie Videos
- Learning Packets
Students enrolled in The Center’s Virtual Preschool will continue with their normal schedule.
Don’t forget to take advantage of ReadyRosie. It’s a wonderful way to learn about fun and easy activities you can do with your child. It also has a texting app to make it super easy to reach out to your child’s teacher. Teachers will continue to send out weekly videos that show simple activities you can do at home with your child.
There may be lots of emotions that come with moving to remote learning. Please know we are here for you and care about you. Solvista Health also has a new service provided through the Colorado Spirit program. It is confidential and free COVID counseling and it does not require enrollment in Solvista Health services. It is for those feeling the stressful impacts of COVID-19 who need to talk. You can call Solvista Health at 719-275-2351 and ask for the Colorado Spirit Support Program.
Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving holiday. We are looking forward to seeing you on Monday, November 30th.
Be well!
