LCES Families, Happy last week of school, families! It’s hard to believe the school year has come to the last 4 days of school. What an incredible year of learning, growth, and FUN. This week was special in that we celebrated many different ways and are keeping things busy and exciting! On Wednesday, K-2 students and families enjoyed their time during our teddy bear picnic! It’s always fun to go outside for a special lunch. We are thankful for the great turnout from families! On Thursday, our PK-2 students celebrated our graduating LCHS seniors! Congratulations to these students for accomplishing high school and thank you students for the tear jerking performance of “Big Dreams”. This week first graders took a trip to Hayden Meadows to continue their learning around “Frontier Explorers”. Thank you to C4 for coordinating and facilitating this field experience for our students! Lastly, this week we celebrated all of the reading growth our K-2 students have shown this year. Students have worked so incredibly hard learning the foundational reading skills and beginning to read for comprehension. Mrs. Lovely and Mrs. Mulcey visited each classroom and gave awards for reading growth as well as donuts. Continue reading over the summer and reach out if you need any books! Remember, our last day of school on Thursday is an early dismissal day. We will begin our dismissal process at 11:00am, please reach out to the front office for transportation plans if they need to be changed from your regular schedule. Next week we are looking forward to field day on Tuesday, K-2 awards celebration on Wednesday, and PK graduation on Thursday. See you on Monday for the last week of school! Brandi Lovely, Principal blovely@lakecountyschools.net LCSD Family SurveyWe’d like to invite you to take our LCSD Family Survey. This survey won’t take more than 5 minutes and it gives us valuable feedback on how successful our schools are in supporting you, and how we can improve. You can take the survey multiple times, once for each of the schools your children attend. Take the survey nowThank you so much for your feedback! | |

Check out the ideas below and get ready to have some SUMMER FUN!Fun Summer Learning Themes for PreschoolersNumber ThemeNumber themes allow preschoolers to learn about numbers and develop their understanding of basic mathematical concepts. Helping preschoolers strengthen their early math skills during the summer can prepare them for the math lessons they’ll learn in kindergarten/preschool in the fall. Introduce the concept of numbers through math activities like number matching, counting games, or sorting objects according to their size or shape. You can use materials such as counting sets, number blocks or magnets, or flashcards to teach number recognition.Music and Movement ThemeEncourage your preschoolers to explore the joys of summer through music and dance. Music themes allow children to explore their creativity and develop physical skills such as balance and coordination.Play summer-related songs, such as summer tunes and ocean soundtracks, and incorporate instruments like bells and drums for the children to play as they sing and dance to the songs.Encourage children to move with the beat of the music, and introduce props like balloons, ribbons, and scarves to add fun to the movement. On sunny days, you can create a space outdoors, such as a pretend dance floor, that gives children room to express themselves freely through movements while enjoying the summer sun.The original article can be found at:https://mybrightwheel.com/blog/summer-activities-for-preschoolersRhonda H.
