LCES Weekly Update 10/28/22
LCES Families,
Thank you to all of you who were able to attend conferences this week. This is such an important time to meet with teachers and see the progress that your child is making. Also, thank you to all the families who attended our Community meeting on Thursday morning and thank you to our first grade team for hosting! We had a great time celebrating all the students who earned Student of the Month for the habit of Respect. Please be sure to join us on December 1st for our November/December community meeting celebrating the habit of Responsibility.
CarRider Pro:
We are excited to launch our new pick up system on Monday. If you use the pick-up lane to pick up your student at the end of the day, you will need to have your CarRider Pro tag that was handed out at conferences on your rearview mirror. When you drive into the lane, it will let us know you are there and we will send your student out and load as normal. If you were not able to pick up your tag, please stop by the front office to get one.
Halloween:
We will not be having classroom parties or celebrations on Monday, October 31st. However, students are welcome to dress up in their costume for the day. Please refrain from wearing masks, bringing props or weapons, or scary makeup/characters. Thank you!
Thanksgiving Lunch is Back!
Parent Engagement Opportunities:
Thank you all for honoring our new drop off procedure in the mornings by dropping students off at the door or in the drop off lane. We want to recognize that this has taken away a daily opportunity for parents to be in the building, so want to share with you other ways for parent engagement.
- You are welcome to join your student for lunch. Please sign into the front office
- Cost for Adult lunch is $4.50.
- Join us for Thanksgiving lunch on November 17th (see attached flier)
- Come join us for our Open House/Celebration of Learning on November 17th (more details to come)
- Join us for monthly community meetings (dates and times in events below)
We will continue to post additional parent engagement opportunities as they are planned.
Again, thanks for a great week. Please reach out any time if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Katie Pongrekun
LCES Principal
