Family Communication 6/9/23
LCES Families,
We have had such a fun week at LCES. On Monday, our 2nd graders visited LCIS to help them prepare for 3rd grade and move to a new building. On Tuesday, the 2nd graders visited the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Students had a blast and were able to see displays that connected to their CKLA Knowledge units.

On Wednesday, Mrs. Ayers led the school in our annual field day. Despite the change in weather half way through, students and parents had so much much fun going through all the different activities. Thanks Mrs. Ayers for a great field day!
Kinder Trip to Fish Hatchery:
On Thursday, Kindergarten students visited the fish hatchery. It was a fun day of learning for them as well as they got to explore.
Art Collaborative Project:2nd Grade drew an Alebrije, 5th Grade sculpted in clay, and 10th grade finished off by glazing and painting.
Car Rider Tags:
On the last day of school when you pick your child up through the pick up lane, we will be collecting the Car Rider Pro tags. If you do not go through the lane, please bring your tag into the office by June 15th or send it to school with your child to give to their classroom teacher. Thanks so much for turning them in so that we can prepare for the next school year.

Please join us for the following last week of school activities:
- June 13: Teddy Bear Picnic during lunch: Bring your blanket and a teddy bear and have lunch with your child.

Please stop by this last week to check the lost and found. All items not claimed by June 15th will be donated to a local charity. Thanks for helping connect these lost items to their owners.

Lake County School Board:
The Lake County School Board is seeking individuals interested in serving on an advisory committee. The District Accountability Committee (DAC) is a state required committee created by each local school board with the purpose of providing recommendations and advisement to the school board on topics set by state statute as well as by the local board. The committee is required to meet at least quarterly as a committee and at least annually with the school board, although the committee can choose to meet more often. We are looking forward to kicking this group off for the 2023-24 school year using a format that includes opportunities for meeting around the state required topics as well as areas of local study toward actionable recommendations and conversations with the Board of Education. We are requesting that interested individuals complete the following application that will be reviewed by the Board of Education.

At the June 26th meeting, we are scheduled for the board to select leadership and membership of the DAC. After this meeting, the selected leadership team will have an initial planning meeting in August to create and roll out the 2023-24 schedule and plan for the DAC. Thank you again for your interest and willingness to serve on this important committee.
