News from LCHS
Lake County School District has purchased thermometers for families who do not have one at home. In order to fulfill the grant requirements, families are asked to fill out this (English) brief questionnaire to determine need and eligibility, or (Spanish) version of the google form requesting a thermometer. Thermometers will be available starting September 24.
Class of 2021 Seniors and parents: remember to get all your yearbook page pictures and info to Mrs. Ayers at rayers@lakecountyschools.net See the attached flyers for the date and what’s needed, in both English and Spanish.
UPDATE: Meals during Yellow Phase Reopening
All meals are currently free for all students regardless of free/reduced lunch status. Please be sure to take advantage of the meals LCSD is able to provide!
Please follow this link for details on distribution depending on your student’s learning choice. If you need any accommodations please do not hesitate to reach out to Julie Mehle jmehle@lakecountyschools.net
719-293-1040 (cell), 719-486-6960 (work).
Even though meals will be free for all students for at least the next few weeks, we encourage all families, including our virtual students, to apply for Free and Reduced School Meals during the first 30 days of school. It is necessary to complete a new application each school year. If your student was eligible for free or reduced meals during the 2019-2020 school year, that eligibility only carries through the first 30 days of school. Children need healthy meals to learn and thrive at school! Lake County School District offers healthy meals every school day and eligible families can receive these meals at no cost. When families apply for school meal benefits they are also helping Lake County School District receive additional funding that goes right back into the classroom!
Applications can be turned in at any school front office Monday-Thursday 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, or mailed to Leslee Torsell, Lake County High School, 1004 W. 4th St., Leadville, CO 80461. If you need an application use this link to download the application as a PDF – https://www.lakecountyschools.net/for-families/nutrition/nutrition-application/ or contact Leslee Torsell, ltorsell@lakecountyschools.net, 719-486-6954.
As always if you have any concerns or questions please call the LCHS office, 719-486-6950, or Ben Cairns, Principal, 719-486-6970.
