Hello LCHS Panthers,
We are off to a terrific start here at LCHS! The beautiful weather is here, and so begin our Fall activities. There are several home athletic events this weekend. High school volleyball will host Frontier League opponent, Englewood, on Thursday, JV begins at 4:30, varsity at 5:30. Friday the high school soccer team will play Dolores Huerta beginning at 2:00. And on Saturday, the cross country teams host their invitational at CMC. Races begin at 9 am. Come out and support your Panthers!

2022-2023 School Meals and Free and Reduced School Meal Applications
This school year students will be charged for their school meals based on their eligibility status for free and reduced school meals. All students will receive breakfast for free and students who are eligible for free meals or reduced-priced meals will also receive lunch for free. If your student was eligible for free or reduced meals during the 2021-2022 school year, that eligibility only carries through the first 30 days of school. Each year families must complete a new Free and Reduced School Meals application. Free and reduced school meal applications are available at your student’s school office and the LCSD District Office at 328 W. 5th, St., Leadville, CO 80461, or at www.lakecountyschools.net, under the Nutrition tab. Athletics:
The next eligibility check is Thursday, September 8. Currently ineligible athletes may continue to practice, but they may not participate in competition. If your child goes ineligible and then is able to pull all of their grades up, they may email me a request to be reinstated ahead of the next eligibility date.
Tomorrow, Saturday, September 3, is the home cross country invitational at Colorado Mountain College. There will be a citizen’s race at 8 am for parents, siblings or other community members to run/walk the 5K course. You can sign up and pay your $20 entry fee at the CMC field on Saturday morning. Race times for your Panthers are: 9:00 am JV girls, 10:20 am Varsity girls, 11:00 am Varsity boys, 11:45 am MS girls, 12:15 pm MS boys. Please come out and support your teams!!
