News From LCHS 10/25/24
Dear LCHS Families,
Thank you again for your attending at conferences last week. We really appreciated seeing families in the building supporting their students. We have great students and parents and it inspires me to see the dedication to their experiences here at LCHS. We continue to reflect on our practices to ensure that everyone feels welcome and supported.
Highlights from the Week
- Our career exploration students had the chance to tour Climax this week! It was a great experience for them and we appreciate our staff and community for making this possible.
- Our 7th and 8th grade students continue to have community meetings where they gather to learn social skills, understand their emotions, and enjoy team building activities.
- HS Volleyball beat Buena Vista in five sets this past week.
- HS Cross Country is headed to regionals this weekend.
Staff / Student Parking
We have implemented staff and student parking in the east parking lot. There are cones to indicate where staff parking begins. Most students are following this procedure and we still have a few that are not. Please have a conversation with your child if they drive and we will message this again on Monday.
How to meet with Administrators and Support Staff
We have many valuable stakeholders in our school community: students, staff, parents, and community members. We want to let you know the best way to meet with us if you need to have a conversation, raise a concern, or would like to share praise.
One of our primary goals as a school administration team is to consistently be in classrooms and with our students and staff. This is a priority for us as an administration team. If you need to talk with one of us, the best way is to schedule a meeting through our front office staff. This way we can be sure to have time dedicated to you, without other scheduling conflicts.
If we are in classrooms and/or previously scheduled meetings, we apologize in advance that we may not be able to meet with you immediately, if you don’t have an appointment. If there are significant concerns to student or staff safety the front office can help navigate next steps.
We value time with parents and the community and also need to be present throughout the building for our students and staff. The front office has access to our calendars and are available to get you in at our next available time so we can dedicate the necessary time to you for these important conversations.
