News From LCHS 12/05/2025
Dear LCHS Families,
We are now two weeks away from winter break, and I want to share a reminder about our plans for semester one finals. Finals will take place on Wednesday, December 17th and Thursday, December 18th during the regular school day. Teachers will review expectations in class and make sure students know what to prepare for.
This stretch before break is an important time for students to stay focused, complete any remaining assignments, and review the material they have been working on throughout the semester. Encouraging your student to use class time well, stay organized, and check in with their teachers will help them feel confident going into finals.
Good attendance is especially important during the next two weeks. Being present and on time ensures students can participate in review activities and take their finals as scheduled.

Sports Report
Congratulations to Avalynn Homer of Lake County’s trap shooting team! In trap shooting, orange clay targets are shot out of a machine launcher in random directions, and the athletes have to hit them as they fly. Avalynn is the female league champion for the fall season, averaging 21.1 hits per 25 shots!! Trap shooting has a spring season as well, and students in grades 6-12 are welcome to participate. Watch for more details in January.

Click on the boxes next to the activity/sport(s) you want to see, and then click “View” below the options. In the upper right hand corner of the report, there are buttons to “print” or “subscribe” to this calendar. By subscribing, you can get the activity calendar dropped into your Outlook Calendar, Google Calendar or iCal device. Any changes made to the calendar will automatically update in your calendar.
If you would like to receive text or email notifications whenever there is a change to your sport/activity, click on “Notify Me” on the right pane of the calendar home page. You will be prompted to create an account and select the sports/activities that you wish to receive notifications for.
High school students who fail 2 or more classes this semester will not be eligible for competition in any winter sport. Please encourage your student(s) to work hard in these last few weeks, so they can pass their classes!
