All LCIS Library books are due now! Please help your child locate any missing books. If you have any questions, please contact the LCIS office at 719-486-6830. Thank you!
rd graders ended their perimeter module by creating polygon robots and calculating their perimeter.
rd graders had a blast at our field trip at Twin Lakes on Thursday! The weather was beautiful. We had so much fun fishing, searching for the water for macroinvertebrates, and testing water samples for lead, copper, and pH levels. We met with many experts from CMC and GOL. Students will continue working on their water essays and preparing a presentation with data we collected at our field trip!
th graders are continuing to learn about the 19th Amendment, women’s suffrage, and civil rights. We are continuing to read The Hope Chest – a riveting novel! Students are exploring the pivotal role Tennessee played in the fight for women’s suffrage through the eyes of the main character, Violet.
th graders have been writing opinion essays about two personal items and two items they think are most important to pack in their emergency preparedness kit for their natural disaster. In Math, we have been learning about parallel and perpendicular lines. This will be the last week that homework is sent home. Thank you for supporting your child with their reading and math at home!
th grade is finishing up their ELA module by presenting their performance task, a slideshow based on a researched “hidden figure.” In math, students are continuing to focus on statistics in math, this week with an emphasis on calculating mean and M.A.D. (Mean absolute deviation) 6th graders also visited the junior high to get a tour, meet teachers, and learn about the classes they will take next year.
