LCIS Friday Afternoon Shout Out 10-4-24
Hello LCIS Panthers,
We conducted our annual evacuation drill on Thursday this week. The students walked to the Lutheran Church, our evacuation site, quickly, quietly, and safely. They were respectful and calm while teachers and staff accounted for each and every student. We are so proud of their behavior! They exhibited responsibility and respect, two of our Habits of Work and Learning (HOWLs), while evacuating our building, traveling to the church, and waiting quietly for accountability. We know that conducting these drills will help to keep all of us safe in the event of an emergency.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up fast! We are excited to meet with students and families on October 16 and October 17 from noon until 8 pm. Please use this link to schedule an appointment with your child’s crew teacher. Students will have sack lunches in the classroom and then be dismissed at 11:15. Busses will run their regular routes. Please be sure you call the office before 10am if you have a change for your child’s after school instructions.
Picture retakes are next week on Tuesday the 8th. Order forms went home last week, but we have more in the office if you need one. You can also order online by using this link:https://lifetouch.com/ and this code EVTFS69XR. Only students who have completed a paper or online order will have their picture taken.
Our scholars set a new record on IXL this week by answering almost 37,000 questions. Our grand total of questions answered this year is over 152,000! Awesome! We can see from the graph below that more than half of these questions are being answered at home. Thank you so much for encouraging your child to work on English Language Arts and Math on IXL. A little practice every day adds up to increased academic achievement!
Congratulations to this week’s Skill Masters group!
They had the most skills mastered in ELA and Math this week on IXL.
Our attendance continues to hover in the mid to low 90 percentile. Please do everything you can to prioritize school and have your child at LCIS every day! Our first attendance celebration will be held on 10/10/24. We are planning our Fun Fruit Fest! | 3rd 93.78% 4th 93.43% 5th 94.42% 6th 95.08% |
